OUR BIOAdrian De Berardinis Owner / Senior Stylist Born in Toronto in 1976, Adrian De Berardinis hails from a hair styling family legacy. Even at the young age of ten, he spent most of his childhood in his father's hair salon, famously serving coffee and tending to clients that frequented his family's establishment. His mother - Sharon, a world-class colorist herself, has been a darling of the Greenwich elite for the last 15 years, pioneered the "Perfect Blond". She created the salon service standard and quenched demand in the wealthy bedroom community that allowed these urbanites to forgo travel into Manhattan's Fifth Avenue Salons - choosing instead to satisfy their exacting style needs in Greenwich, locally. His father - legendary stylist Giancarlo De Berardinis, and his Uncle - Massimo De Berardinis, created a hair styling empire in Canada, the U.S. and Asia that reigned supreme for nearly three decades (70's, 80's and early 90's) - making them the most respected and sought after hair-stylists in the world at the time. Adrian's childish fascination with the hair styling art-form evolved into intrinsic knack, becoming apparent as he would often style his family members' hair in braided up-do's and chignons. While pursuing a degree in Communications in Dallas, TX. Adrian earned his extra spending money by giving hair cuts in his dormitory to fellow students, further furling his discovery and interest for hairdressing. The result manifests a fashionable, highly sought after, "rooty" look that replicates the effects of hair that has been naturally drenched and lightened by the sun after summering on the Mediterranean. Crochet Technique "This new cutting technique from Milan incorporates more movement and texture for a truly modern look." states De Berardinis. Heavy hair is beautifully uplifted by this fresh approach to layering that literally "breaks up" the weight of the hair. The Crochet Technique can be used on any hair type of length. Furthermore, it can be achieved with different variations depending on the thickness and texture of the hair. In order to get rid of the heaviness that so many women complain of, De Berardinis prefers traditional scissors for this cut (rather than thinning sheers), which can often result in fuzziness and drastically thinned-out hair. Natural Born Color "The future of hair color is all about dimension," explains Sharon De Berardinis, Color Director at the CT Salon. "To maintain dimension, illuminate the face and show texture, you need to use strong colors in the interior of the hair," advises Sharon. "For instance on a natural dark blond head of hair, I place lighter blond underneath so that when the hair moves, the lighter colors shine through." Since returning from Italy, Sharon has been using new color techniques to achieve the most vibrant and modern color. The Flash Crochet Technique (the exact opposite of the Crochet cutting technique), leaves the hair filled with rich bursts of color. "The hair is divided from the back to the front and then sliced and weaved vertically.
